The 40th APIH Cafédrive will be played on Saturday, May 18, 2024.

Venue
As in previous years, the APIH Cafédrive will take place in the city centre of Groningen, the exact location will be announced in due time.

Registration
It is possible to register on this website by clicking on 'Registration' in the menu. The entry fee is €35,- for two people, with a discount of €10,- per person for each youth player (so 2 youth players for €15!). Lunch is not included. Registration and payment before 11 May 2023 will guarantee a place, registration and payment after this date will only be considered if the number of registrations allows it.
A cancellation fee of €5 will be charged to cover additional costs and will be deducted from the amount to be refunded. If you cancel shortly before the cafedrive, after the schedule has been set, or if you do not attend without a valid reason, no refund will be given.

Corona
There are currently no more restrictive measures in place. The government advises people to stay at home if they have symptoms and to isolate themselves if they have corona. The APIH Cafédrive can therefore be played without any hospitality restrictions.

Form of the game
32 games will be played in eight rounds, after each round the players will change seats by visiting a different bar. As last year, by popular demand, the barometer system will be used, meaning that all participants will play the same games in the same round.

Program
The day will start between 10:00 and 10:30 am at Restaurant Weeva, Gedempte Zuiderdiep 8-10, where the walking scheme and the tournament booklet can be picked up while enjoying a cup of coffee or tea. Awards - prizes
The prize pool depends on the number of participants. There are many prizes, both cash and non-cash, throughout the field. Master points will be awarded based on the number of participants according to the NBB scale.

The distribution of prizes is determined and distributed each year. This depends on how many players register. The structure is usually the same. There are cash prizes based on the overall final classification. But also for the couples who come first in their level group (main class, first class, club players, home players).
There are also special prizes:
- Round prizes
- Couple closest to 40%
- Mountain and valley prizes (for the most peaks and zeros)
- 50% prize, for the pair that finishes closest to 50%.
- Best club bridge player per region

As soon as the distribution is known, it will be published on the website.

Lunch
Lunch should be brought or bought locally. Several bars offer a lunch menu.

Tip: If you reserve your lunch in rounds 1 to 3, the waiting time at lunchtime will be shorter.

The start of the event day is from 10.00 - 10.30 a.m. Here you will pick up your schedule before the tournament starts and a small booklet containing all the information you need, a map with the locations of the participating bars, scoring instructions, emergency phone numbers, etc.
The walking slips and booklet will be collected from Hotel De Weeva, Gedempte Zuiderdiep 8-10, 9711 HG Groningen. (Google Maps.).

INFO for train passengers :

From Groningen station, walk in the direction of the Groningen Museum. Cross the coloured bridge and walk straight on until you reach Gedempte Zuiderdiep. On your right you will see Subway (a restaurant). Turn right and walk down Gedempte Zuiderdiep. At the very end, next to the Albert Heijn, you will find Restaurant Weeva.

INFO for motorists :

The closest car park is Q-Park Rademarkt. This is located at Rademarkt 27 in Groningen. From the Ring, take the Groningen Helpman exit. Take the Hereweg towards the centre and continue to the traffic lights. Turn right there. Turn left at the next set of traffic lights and you will see the car park on your left.

The pedestrian entrance and exit is in the Albert Heijn building. When you leave the building, turn right into Gedempte Zuiderdiep. You will pass the Albert Heijn and on your right you will see Restaurant Weeva, where you can pick up your running ticket. If you are using the Albert Heijn exit itself, turn right. Weeva is about 30 metres away.
