Practical information

The 38th APIH Cafédrive was on Saturday May 28, 2022. The ACDC is preparing the 39th drive which will be played in May 2023.

Just like previous years, the APIH Cafédrive will be held in the city centre of Groningen, the precise locations will be announce in due time.

Use the 'contact form' to contact us.

It is possible to register at this website by clicking on 'Registration' in the menu. The entry fee is €30,- for two persons, where every youth player will receive a discount of €7,50 per person (which means that 2 youth players join in for €15,-!). Lunch is not included in the price. Registering and paying before May 14, 2022 will guarantee a starting place, subscriptions and payments that are delivered after this date can only compete if this is possible given the number of enrolments.

At the time of writing, it looks like the APIH Cafédrive can be played without restrictive measures. If the situation changes due to the introduction of new measures by the government or the municipality of Groningen, we will adhere to them and expect our participants to adhere to them. You will then be informed about this by the APIH Cafédrive Committee.

Tournament information

Game form
32 games will be played in eight rounds, after each round the players will change their seating by visiting another bar. Like last year, by popular request, the barometer system will be used, which means that all participants play the same games in the same round.

The day will begin between 10:00 and 10:30 am in Restaurant Weeva at Gedempte Zuiderdiep 8-10, where the walking scheme and the tournament booklet can be picked up while enjoying a cup of coffee or tea. The further program looks like this (subject to change, the exact schedule will be announced on the day itself):

The prize pool depends on the number of participants. There are many prices, both money prices as prices in kind throughout the whole field. Even if you rank 136th you get a price. Master points will be awarded based on the number of participants according to the NBB scale.

The Awards distribution is determined and distributed again each year. This depends on the number of registrations. The structure usually remains the same. There are cash awards based on the total final ranking. But also for the couples who finish highest in their level group (main class, first class, club player, home player).
There are also special prices ,like:
- Round prices
- Couple closest to 38%
- Mountain and valley award (for most peaks and zeros)
- 50% award, for pair that ends closest to 50%
- The best club bridge player by region

When the distribution is known, it will be stated on the website.
